The Academic Health Center (AHC) includes six schools and colleges, interdisciplinary centers and programs, and support units, all reporting to the vice president for health sciences.

Our mission is to develop and sustain a world class academic health sciences center, in order to improve the health of Minnesotans, to find new cures and treatments, and to train the next generation of highly qualified health professionals.

Located in buildings across campus, the Academic Health Center's operations and support units, known as AHC Shared Services, come together on this website, where you can find the people, forms, policies, and resources to help get your work done. 

Aids productivity through technology/IT support, server administration, and application development

Promotes the health sciences through strategic communications in public relations, web, and community affairs

Manages our physical environment, buildings, and facilities support services

Ensure that individually identifiable health information is handled appropriately across the entire University

Supports a talented and diverse workforce through HR services, policies, and procedures

Legal Counsel

Provides legal services; part of the Office of the General Counsel

Maintains fiscal responsibility through budgets, accounting, data analyses, reporting, and oversight

Ensures that University-wide health emergencies are addressed in a timely and efficient manner

Research support

In addition to our externally facing research centers, departments, and programs the Academic Health Center is home to research support including an office for research, the Clinical and Translational Science Institute, and a number of research services with facilities, equipment, and other resources for researchers.
