Analytics account access

Email ahcweb@umn.edu to request access to your website’s Google Analytics account.

If you are part of the University’s healthcare component (HCC), you will need an exception to access Google Analytics.

Website analytics is a method of collecting internet data such as pageviews, unique visitors, and search terms. Analysis of this data can help give insight into how people arrive at your site, how they use your site and how you can help them find what they need quickly. Additionally, web analytics helps measure successes and identify areas to improve.

The Academic Health Center (AHC) web team uses Google Analytics tracking code on all AHC websites.

Google Analytics Reports

Visitors overview report provides an at-a-glance overview of all the key visitor metrics for your site.

Traffic sources overview report provides an at-a-glance overview of visitor-source metrics for your site.

Content overview report provides an at-a-glance overview of the key pageview metrics for your site.

Google Analytics Terms

Visits is the number of visits to your site.

Unique Visitors is the number of unduplicated (counted only once) visitors to your website over the course of a specified time period.

Pageviews is the total number of pages viewed. Repeated views of a single page are counted.

Bounce rate is the percentage of single-page visits (i.e. visits in which the person left your site from the entrance page).

Exit rate is the percentage of site exits that occurred from a specified page or set of pages.
