Color Blocking

Color blocking is a visual way to divide sections of content on a web page. This functionality is built into our “deluxe” layouts, but is not turned on by default. If you would like to add color blocking to a page of your site, please send an email to ahcweb@umn.edu.

Information required to add color blocking:

  • The URL of the page that you want to add color blocking to
  • What section you want to be color blocked
  • What type of treatment you want applied to this section

Available color blocking treatments include:

  • Solid color (hex or rgb code preferred)
  • Pattern (vector-based preferred)
  • Photograph (high-resolution/high-quality required)
